For too long, Bible-believing Christians have considered “the woman” as a “creative afterthought” of God. Beliefs affect behaviour; therefore, incorrect beliefs result in incorrect behaviours, and women, who are designed by God to be honoured, are oftentimes dishonoured. The Bible has, as one of its primary purposes, correction (2 Tim. 3:16). One pure word can do that. The word is “them”.

Genesis 1:27-28

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Them! I think you must agree that we can Biblically conclude the following facts about God’s creative intent for “them”:

1. The image of God was upon them

2. The blessing of God was upon them

3. The addressing by God was to them

4. The directive by God to “be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth” was to them (Obviously!!)

5. The command to subdue the earth was to them

6. The dominion over the Creation was to them

God said unto them! How would all this work in the absence of “the woman”? Let’s face it, men -how would ANYTHING work? We thank God for women of all ages and look forward to honouring them all in our Mother’s Day Service on May 10.
