We are an Independent Baptist Church located in the Camden LGA, NSW, meeting at Oran Park Library – Sandown Rooms. Our mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, worship Him wholeheartedly, and lovingly proclaim His truth to our community. Honouring Each Other

1 Corinthians 12: 22-26 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

In 1933, Japanese chemist Shinobu Yamada created a solution that would tell the strength of an acid or base. It is called Universal Indicator Solution and depending on the pH of a sample, it will change colour. Previously, products like litmus paper could tell us whether a sample was acidic or alkaline. Universal Indicator could now tell us strength of acidity or alkalinity. How incredibly handy!

God’s Word is like a “universal indicator” of not just whether we love each other, but the strength of our love toward each other. For example, love is kind, and doesn’t envy, nor puff itself up (I Cor 13:4). In fact, it has as one of its “colours” “in honour preferring one another” (Rom. 12:10).

Read I Corinthians 12. Read Romans 12. Test yourself today – not for whether you love, but for the strength of your love. I’m confident, you will find something practical in these passages that can be added to the solution. I believe it will include “honouring each other”!
