What We Believe

The Bible  We believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant, inspired, and preserved Word of God. We believe the Authorized King James Version to be the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people.

2 Timothy 3:16-17;  2 Peter 1:19-21;  Matthew 5:18;  Hebrews 4:12;  Acts 1:16;  John 10:35; John 17:17

The Triune God  We believe there is only one true and living God. He is declared in the Scriptures (Genesis 1:1) and evidenced in Creation (Psalm 19:1,  Romans 1:20).  God exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  These three are co-eternal and co-equal, each with distinct roles, but one essence.

Genesis 1:1;  John 1:1-3;  Matthew 28:19;  Romans 1:2-4;  Ephesians 4:3-6;  1 Corinthians 8:6; Deuteronomy 4:35;  Deuteronomy 6:4

The Fall of Man  We believe that man was created in the image of God; and by choice, he fell into sin and death. Hence, every person is sinful and therefore subject to eternal judgment.

Genesis 1:27;  Romans 3:28;  Romans 5:12-19;  Isaiah 53:6;  Ephesians 2:1-3

Hell  We believe that Hell is a literal place of fire and torment where those who die in their sins will spend eternity.

Mark 9:43-48;  Luke 16:19-31

The Salvation of Sinners  We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith. That the shedding of the sinless blood of Christ, His death, burial and resurrection on the third day is the Gospel. Believing this Gospel and turning from sin is the only way of Salvation.

Acts 16:31;  Ephesians 2:8-10;  1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 Peter 1:18-23;  John  3:3-6;  John 10:28-29

The Eternal Security of the Believer  We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as Saviour are eternally secure. Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ.

John 3:1-7;  John 10:27-30;  1 John 2:1-2;  Hebrews 2:10;  1 Corinthians 6:19;  Romans 8:31-34

The Local Church  We believe that Jesus started the church during His earthly ministry and that a Scriptural church is a visible assembly of saved and scripturally baptised believers, covenanted together under New Testament doctrine for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission. Only members of this church participate in the Lord's Supper.

Matthew 16:18;  Matthew 28:18-20;  Matthew 3:13-17;  Acts 16:5;  Ephesians 1:22-23:  Ephesians 3:21;  1 Timothy 3:15;  Acts 2:41;  Acts 19:1-5;  1 Corinthians 11:23-26
